Ian's BPM
Privacy Policy
Ian's BPM collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The app makes no network requests of its own, and nothing you record is ever sent to the developer.
Data stored on your iPhone
The app stores the following only on your device:
- Your sessions: beat timestamps, markers and tune changes, titles, and any target tempo you enter.
- Your settings, such as the starting mode, visible graph traces, and Auto-mode detection preferences.
You can delete individual sessions from Previous Sessions, and removing the app deletes its data from your device.
iCloud
The current version of the app does not use iCloud; your sessions stay on your device. A future version may offer to sync sessions and settings between your devices through iCloud. If it does, that data will be stored in your own private iCloud account under Apple's terms, will not be accessible to the developer, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.
Microphone
Auto mode asks for microphone access so it can detect beats automatically. Audio is analysed on your device, in real time, to find beat timings. The audio itself is never recorded, saved, or transmitted; only the detected beat timestamps are kept as part of the session. Manual mode does not use the microphone, and you can turn microphone access off at any time in the Settings app.
Exporting
When you export a session as CSV, the app hands the file to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there (Mail, Files, AirDrop, and so on) is your choice, and is handled by the app or service you select under its own privacy policy.
Links
The Support, Privacy Policy, and Website links in the app open in your browser or mail app. Visiting this website is subject to standard web-server logging by its host, Cloudflare, under Cloudflare's privacy policy; the site itself uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking.
Analytics and tracking
None. The app contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and it does not sell or share any information.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date below.
